On Friday, October 13, head to the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge for the FALL FIRE FRIDAY FEST, a music festival featuring the release of a new single from Crow Follow, as well as performances by Boston music veterans Emily Grogan and Girl With a Hawk.If you’re in the mood for something heavier, check out the metal show at OBriens in Allston, featuring Iron Gag, Choke, Narc, Razed, and Rüe.

On Saturday, October 14, catch the Watertown Zine Fest at the Watertown Free Public Library. Zines are self-published magazines on a variety of topics, and this festival is a great chance to browse and purchase unique zines from local creators. Later that day, head to the Midway Cafe in Jamaica Plain for a night of live music featuring Son of a Gun, The Legendary Brewmasters, The Ballbusters, and Linwood Strange.

On Sunday, October 15, be sure to check out the 2023 Boston Palestine Film Festival, which is taking place at various venues throughout the city. The festival features a diverse lineup of films that explore Palestinian culture, history, and politics.

Indigenous Peoples Day March

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, UAINE will host an Indigenous Peoples Day March in Boston, Massachusetts. The march is a celebration of Indigenous culture and resilience, and a protest against the ongoing injustices that Indigenous peoples face. The march will begin at noon at Park Street Station and will proceed down Tremont Street to the Boston Common, where there will be a rally with speakers and performances. The march is open to everyone, and all are welcome to participate.

Green New Deal Dance Party Celebrates Sustainability in Boston

The 4th Annual Green New Deal Dance Party is a fun, family-friendly event that celebrates the work of organizations focused on creating a more sustainable Boston. The event will be held at Dorchester’s Nightingale Community Garden on Saturday, September 30th, from 3pm to 7pm.

The Green New Deal Dance Party will feature music and dancing, tasty food for sale, guest speakers, and hands-on activities for all ages. 

The event is free and open to all, but registration is appreciated. Nightingale Community Garden is located at 512 Park Street in Dorchester. The garden and the program are wheelchair-accessible, and the garden is close to the Washington Street buses. Some free parking is available on the street or in the back of the CVS parking lot across the street.

The Green New Deal Dance Party is a great opportunity to learn more about sustainability in Boston and to celebrate the work of organizations that are making a difference. It’s also a fun event for all ages, so come out and join the celebration!
