Biden Ends Title 42, Asylum Seekers Face Uncertain Future

Biden Ends Title 42, Asylum Seekers Face Uncertain Future

The Biden administration ended Title 42, a public health order that had been used to expel asylum seekers at the U.S.-Mexico border during the COVID-19 pandemic. The end of Title 42 is expected to lead to an increase in the number of asylum seekers at the border, and it is unclear how the Biden administration will handle the influx.

There have been reports that the CBP One app, which is supposed to make it easier for asylum seekers to apply for asylum, is not working properly. Some asylum seekers have reported that they are unable to create an account, or that they are unable to schedule an appointment.

The Biden administration has said that it is aware of the problems with the CBP One app, and that it’s working to fix them. However, in the meantime, asylum seekers are facing long wait times and are being turned back at the border.

The Biden administration has also said that it is increasing the number of asylum officers, and that it’s working to create a more efficient asylum process. However, it is unclear how long it will take for these changes to take effect.

Asylum seekers are hopeful that the end of Title 42 will give them a chance to seek asylum in the United States, but are concerned about the challenges they face at the border.
