TO DO THIS WEEKEND: BOSTON MAY 5-7th, 2023
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The battle took place in the city of Puebla, Mexico, and resulted in a decisive victory for the Mexican forces, who were outnumbered by the French. The victory at Puebla was a morale boost for the Mexican people and helped to inspire their continued resistance to the French occupation.
Cinco de Mayo isn’t a major holiday in Mexico, but it is celebrated in the United States and other countries. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is often seen as a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage. It is a time to enjoy Mexican food, music, and dance.
No matter what you’re in the mood for, you’re sure to find something to do this weekend. So get out there and explore it all!
