TO DO THIS WEEKEND: BOSTON JUNE 9-11th, 2023

Boston Pride Returns After Two-Year Hiatus

Boston Pride, the largest LGBTQ+ pride celebration in New England, returns this weekend after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The parade and festival will take place on Saturday, June 10, and Sunday, June 11, in Boston Common and Copley Square.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday and will feature floats, music, and performances. The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and will feature food, drinks, vendors, and entertainment.

This year’s Boston Pride is particularly important as transgender people in Boston have been under attack in recent months. These attacks are part of a larger trend of violence against transgender people in the United States. According to the Human Rights Campaign, there have been at least 28 transgender or gender non-conforming people killed in the United States in 2022.

Boston Pride is a chance for the LGBTQ+ community to come together and celebrate their identity and resilience. It is also a chance to raise awareness of the violence and discrimination that transgender people face.
