TO DO THIS WEEKEND: BOSTON JUNE 30-JULY 2nd, 2023
Are you looking for a different way to celebrate Independence Day?
Tired of the same old red, white, and blue? Then join us for the 15th annual Anti-Imperialist Picnic!
Instead of celebrating the founding fathers’ slave republic, the military, genocide against indigenous peoples, and imperial conquest, let’s celebrate the resistance to imperialism, the inclusion of all people, and the resilience of working people worldwide.
We’ll have food, music, and speakers focused on anti-imperialism. There will be separate grills for vegans and non-vegans, so feel free to bring whatever food and drinks you’d like to share.
The picnic will be held on July 4th at 12pm at the Allston/Brighton Charles riverside. It’s right next to the canoe and kayak rental location, and there are three parking areas along Soldiers Field Road.
We’re accommodating all dietary choices, so come as you are! There will be an open mic for poetry and music, as well as planned performances. Look for our red and black banners. No Stars & Stripes please.
